Joe Woznica
is a photographer born and raised on the lush farmland of Central New York.
We all start this wild journey one way or another. My way? I was introduced to Ansel Adams’ work in a Photo 1 class in high school. How would the kids say this… his black and whites were giving adventure? I had already been hiking the Adirondacks for 15 years at that point, why couldn’t I do it? Why couldn’t I take those photos too? I set out to prove to myself I could. Over the past decade I’ve evolved from landscapes to sports to family portraits to weddings. I continue all of those today. Never forget your roots, right?
I’m heavily influenced by instrumental music, and its what makes my photographic brain tick. I think they call that cross training? I’m drawn to musical compositions that bring out the tingles in your spine it influences how I frame, how I expose, how I edit.
I enjoy anything outdoors really, but especially those long grueling hikes in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. For those keeping track, I’m on Peak 13/46. My wife recently revealed to me that I’m an adrenaline junkie - I had no idea but it sure would explain a lot. I brand myself as a carpenter in the winter, and a maple sugarer in the spring - sort of an ironic craft for a type 1 diabetic but hey, ying and yang.
Weddings are the most joyful, meaningful events I photograph, and it by far brings me the most joy to create those wedding day memories that you will cherish forever. I can’t wait to hear from you and hear more about your special day!
